About 14 miles from our base
We install heat pumps, solar panels, home batteries and EV chargers across Bournemouth, about 14 miles from our base near Lymington. Every system starts with a free survey and is designed around your home, whether that's a detached house in Talbot Woods or a terrace in Winton.
We're MCS certified and members of the Renewable Energy Consumer Code, so eligible homeowners can use the £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant towards a heat pump and earn Smart Export Guarantee payments from solar.
Bournemouth is covered by BCP Council (Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole), which handles planning across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. For most houses, an air source heat pump and roof-mounted solar panels are permitted development.
Parts of the town are in conservation areas. In a conservation area, a heat pump can't go on a wall or roof that faces a road, and solar panels can't go on a wall, balcony or roof enclosure that faces a road. Listed buildings always need consent.
Bournemouth has a large number of flats, and permitted development rights for flats are more limited. A block of flats can have one air source heat pump of up to 0.6 cubic metres, and solar panels on a shared roof need the agreement of the freeholder or management company. We're happy to talk through what's possible for your building.
Semi-detached and terraced homes can have one air source heat pump under permitted development (detached homes can have two). We position the outdoor unit to keep noise away from neighbours and carry out the MCS noise assessment as part of the design.

Often, yes, but the rules are tighter. A block of flats can have one air source heat pump of up to 0.6 cubic metres under permitted development, and panels on a shared roof need the freeholder's or management company's agreement. We'll advise what's possible for your building.
BCP Council, which covers Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. Most houses don't need planning permission for an air source heat pump or roof-mounted solar panels.
Yes. In a conservation area a heat pump can't go on a wall or roof that faces a road, so we design around that – for example by placing the outdoor unit at the rear – and check with BCP Council where needed.
